EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL LA COMA
History of La Coma Olive Oil Production
«LA COMA» estate is situated in the town of Vilabella, Tarragona (North East Spain), and our extra virgin olive oil takes its name from it. The olive trees are mostly from the arbequina variety. They grow on a privileged fertile area where conditions are optimal. These groves produce a very personal oil with an intensely fruity aroma.
«La Coma» has been passed down from one generation to the next. The expertise and care is naturally inherited by each generation, and that is why La Coma Olive Oil is produced with the utmost respect the environment and possesses health enhancing properties. The family in charge of La Coma estate at the moment are Jordi Segú Sanahuja and his wife Paula Fernández Benavente. The oil they produce is exclusively extra virgin olive oil, and it belongs to the Protected Designation of Origin. The arbequina olive renders a very aromatic oil, of green nuances at the beginning of the harvest, with almond scents, not bitter or sharp, but with a very distinct personality.
