Sirloin Steak with Moncayo Goat’s Cheese

Filet mignon

Most of the time we enjoy a good goat’s cheese with a little bread, sometimes slightly melted, and we tend to accompany it with honey, red berries jam… But this type of cheese also goes really well with hot dishes, to which it adds a touch of creaminess and a delicate flavour. Today we have chosen a wonderful recipe that you can cook over the Christmas season, or on any special occasion. Tasty and healthy, Sirloin Steak with Mariscal & Sarroca Moncayo Goat’s Cheese.

We recommend you use good quality beef sirloin, but it will be just as delicious with pork loin or chicken breast. The Moncayo Goat’s Cheese from Mariscal & Sarroca is an artisanal product that will always add a touch of class to your dishes.

Ingredients (serves 4):

–          4 sirloin steaks

–          100 g Moncayo goat’s cheese from Mariscal & Sarroca

–          2 large onions

–          2 apples

–          Herbs (thyme, oregano…)

–          Extra virgin olive oil from Mariscal & Sarroca

–          Salt and pepper

Preparation:

Preheat grill, medium setting.

Season the steaks. Heat a tablespoon Mariscal & Sarroca extra virgin olive oil in a frying pan. On another pan, brown the chopped onions with a little oil and salt. Add the chopped apple once the onion is soft. Continue cooking until they are slightly brown, stirring continuously.

Cook the steaks. Finely slice the Moncayo goat’s cheese and place the slices on top of the steaks. Sprinkle some herbs on top. Place steaks on an oven tray and grill for a few moments just to allow the cheese to melt.

Serve the steaks together with the onion and apple. The subtle acidity of the cheese with the sweetness of the apple is a perfect combination. Enjoy!
